After having taken on “jump-style” and the other dance styles of the post-Internet era, the collective (LA)HORDE, which brings together the three artists Marine Brutti, Jonathan Debrouwer and Arthur Harel, seeks out the sources of dance’s future with this voyage tracing the most ancient and most current of gestures. It was in Georgia — from which European dance is said to have hailed – that they met with the traditional ensemble IVERONI and its festive virtuosity. In a scenography evoking a wedding and — more astonishing — a façade of parliament, 15 dancers cross traditional Georgian folklore with the techno scene of Tbilisi, cradle of the local protest movement. In Georgia, all dance is imbued with political upheaval. In this explosive show — premiered in August 2019 in Hamburg and awarded the Fedora Platform prize— discoveries and surprises are guaranteed!
